Fellow pilots,

John and I have been discussing a lot of new ideas for United Virtual. One of things being talked about is the transition we're making from BVATC to personalizing/reconsidering our structure and system. As you all know, right now our entire route matrix is based out of Boston, our Mainline hub, and Burlington, our Elite hub. Talks are now underway to shift our matrix completely to a realistic system. We are currently brainstorming ways to transfer our routes out of Boston, and out to all the hubs that UA serves in real life.  This is going to open many new opportunities for our VA as a whole. Transitioning to different hubs is going to allow pilots to have different bases, with real life routes. With the introduction of hubs, we're going to hire pilots to serve as Hub Managers. Also, with this, pilots with higher seniority (hours logged) will allow transfer from different bases, starting out flying small props and jets to smaller airports, to flying narrowbodies from hub to hub, and finally moving to the international hubs for the transcontinental flights that UVA will offer. We believe this will serve our most loyal pilots, who have been flying with us since the beginning, and will also encourage our newer pilots to fly more to get where they want to be.

The new hubs will reflect those operated by UA in real life:

Washington Dulles International Airport
Chicago O'Hare International Airport
Denver International Airport
San Francisco International Airport
Los Angeles International Airport

More information will be out as we make more progress on this, and some things will inevitably change. We welcome any and all pilots to keep us posted with their ideas, and I ask each one of you to vote in our poll.

Happy flying!

Zach

Update: After the revamp, the main UVA Hub will be Denver. Soon a Seniority battle will commence!

Going to more realistic UA route and hub system sounds great to me.   Smile

If there is anything I can do let me know.
